One of our interviews this month is with ES Junior Sports Academy member Sydney Gomes.

Sydney took time out of her busy holiday schedule to enlighten us as to what movies she likes, what she loves most about cycling and just who in her cycling session makes an impact - and who doesn't .........

 

Jo. How old are you ?

Sydney. 8 nearly 9

Jo. What school do you go to?

Sydney. St. Catherines

Jo. Do you have brothers and sisters?

Sydney. No

Jo. What other sport do you play other than cycling ?

Sydney. Tennis - swimming - dance - running

Jo. How long have you been cycling with the Academy?

Sydney. About a year and a half

Jo. Which group are you in?

Sydney. I’m not sure
Jo. um ….. well... actually you’re in my group Sydney - glad you noticed me standing there ……

Jo. What is your absolute favourite thing about your cycling session each week –

Sydney. I like it because it is a team sport and we all have to work together

Jo. Do you daydream about standing on the podium at the Tour de France some day? The one they are going to invent for women I mean!

Sydney. Yes
Jo. I think they should make the winner wear a pink shirt!

Jo. What do you do in your spare time?

Sydney. I play games like Monopoly and Cluedo

Jo. Are you a computer freak or do you like being outside in the fresh air – or maybe a bit of both?

Sydney. I like playing outside on my trampoline

Jo. What is your favourite day of the week and why?

Sydney. I like Wednesday because all the things I do at school on Wednesday are fun and if it is a holiday I like it even more.

Jo. What is your favourite food?

Sydney. Sushi

Jo. Favourite Movie?

Sydney. The Simpsons Movie

Jo. Favourite TV Show?

Sydney. Hannah Montana

Jo. What is your earliest memory?

Sydney. I remember when I threw spaghetti on the wall when I was a baby

Jo. Who is the most famous cyclist you know?

Sydney. Lance Armstrong
Jo. What? Not Frank?? He’ll be crushed Sydney …… Will you tell him or shall I.

Jo. Ok this is my favourite question and Patrick scraped through with a ‘sometimes’. Do you help your Mum clean the house?

Sydney. Yes but only sometimes

A. I’m extremely impressed. Can you come and clean mine? Ha ha
B. You know I would have believed you if you had said yes .........

Jo. Are you really excited about going in your first race with kids other than Academy kids?

Sydney.Yes

Sydney. Teacher, friends and fun

Sydney. Fun, fast and exercise

Sydney. Presents, presents and more presents
