May Profile - Hugh Cruickshank

Our interview section this month includes Hugh Cruickshank. Hugh is one half of the dynamic Cruickshank brothers who have been a part of the Academy for as long as I can remember. Over to you Hugh!
     
 

Jo: How old are you Hugh?

Hugh: 11

Jo: What school do you go to?

Hugh: Woollahra Public School

Jo: Do you have brothers and sisters? If you do, what are their names?

Hugh: Luke aged 13

Jo: What other sport do you do other than cycling and what other clubs/associations do you play for?

Hugh: Tennis at Cooper Park and sailing at Vaucluse Amateur 12 Foot Sailing Club

Jo: How long have you been in the Academy?

Hugh: About 2 years

Jo: Which group are you in?

Hugh: Group 2 with Colin

Jo: What is your absolute favourite thing about your weekly cycling session:

Hugh: Riding with my group and learning skills from Frank, Jo and Colin

Jo: Do you daydream about standing on the podium at the Tour de France some day?

Hugh: No

Jo: What do you do in your spare time? Are you a computer freak or do you like being outside in the fresh air, or a bit of both?

Hugh: I prefer to be out in the fresh air and I usually read in my spare time.

Jo: What is your favourite day of the week and why?

Hugh: Tuesday because I get to do cycling

Jo: Smiling ..... What is your favourite food?

Hugh: French Toast

Jo: Favourite Movie?

Hugh: At the moment it's 'You don't mess with the Zohan'

Jo: Favourite TV Show?

Hugh: The Simpsons

Jo: See ..... I told you everyone says the Simpsons ...... What is your earliest memory?

Hugh: When we went to Centennial Park and I got a big ice cream

Jo: Who is the most famous cyclist you know?

Hugh: Frank

Jo: There won't be room in the house for me and the boys with the size of his head now ...... Ok my favourite question - Do you help your Mum around the house?

Hugh: Yes (please see crucial note at bottom of interview)

Jo: Three descriptive words for the word school:

Hugh: Boring, annoying and fun

Jo: Have you made any good friends at cycling?

Hugh:Yes

Jo: Are you enjoying your Sunday bunch ride with the group? What new things have you learnt since you started doing it?

Hugh: Having fun, seeing my friends from there and learning skills

Jo: Thank you Hugh, and I will be sure to pass on the accolade to Captain Frank!

 

CRUCIAL NOTE AT BOTTOM OF INTERVIEW: Note from Hughs' Mum ...... Mother does not entirely agree with answer to this question, would add a caveat 'not much and only under protest' but I guess I'll let it go .....
